Graduating Seniors Awarded

Calah Burros of Austin High School and Myah Williams of Dulles High School are among five Fort Bend County graduating seniors to receive scholarships from the Suburban Sugar Land Women (SSLW) and their partner, 30 for 30. Each year, SSLW awards first-time scholarships to high school seniors based on their community service, academic excellence, and leadership abilities. The students have the opportunity to apply for SSLW continuing scholarships after their first year of school. They will also be required to commit to volunteer service with SSLW to remain eligible. Burros plans to attend Prairie View A&M University to study nursing, and Williams will attend Howard University to study biology. They will be honored, along with honorees from Lamar Consolidated ISD and Needville ISD, at SSLW’s annual scholarship luncheon on April 27.
