Sugar Land Restaurants May Be Offering More Outdoor Dining

Your Sugar Land outdoor dining experience may include some new and creative options. A recent vote by the Sugar Land City Council allows restaurants to serve more customers by utilizing parking spaces for dining tables. The expanded outdoor plans must be approved for safety and location.

The designated outdoor area must be located adjacent to the restaurant, can not impede any handicap-accessible parking, fire lanes or exits. Permission must be granted by both the restaurant and property owner.

Currently Texas restaurants are only allowed to operate indoors at 50% capacity. The council is hoping the extended outdoor capacity can assist keeping these restaurants open for business.

Consider dining outdoors and support your favorite local restaurants!
